Privacy Policy

What we collect

We collect only what we need to run the site. If you create an account, that is a username and a password, which we store only as a salted hash. You can read every story without an account.

Like most web servers, ours records basic request logs (your IP address, the page requested, the time and your browser type). We use them to keep the site secure, to stop abuse and to count how many people read each story. Logs are kept for a limited time and are not used to build profiles.

Cookies and local storage

We use one essential session cookie, set only when you sign in, so that we can keep you signed in. We also set a short-lived cookie that carries one-time notices (for example, "Saved") from one page to the next. These cookies are strictly necessary, and the site does not work for signed-in users without them.

We do not use advertising, analytics or tracking cookies, and we do not load third-party trackers. Your reading preferences (light or dark theme, text size and the last part you read) are stored in your own browser's local storage. They never leave your device, and you can clear them at any time in your browser settings.

We do not sell your data

We do not sell, rent or trade personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers. We disclose information only when required by law, or when it is necessary to protect the site, our users or the rights of others.

Your choices

You may ask us to access, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, including deleting your account, by contacting us at [email protected]. Residents of states with privacy laws (such as California) may have additional rights, and we will honor valid requests. We may need to confirm your identity first.

Children

The site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will post the new version on this page and update the date above. Please check back from time to time.
